If you're in the Tacoma area you have got to stop by Da Tiki Hut for your fix of islander food.

I came to Da Tiki Hut while I was waiting for my ladies 3hr hair appointment to finish. The atmosphere, when you walk in, looks very low key and calm. Only two employees working (server/hostess and the cook/owner). And BTW, if you've been around the food scene for a while like I have, a high 4 star, almost 5 start overall rating with these two characteristics combined is typically sure to leave you with a pleasant treat

I dined in and had Jessie's loco moco and it was amazing. The gravy is perfectly thick and flavorful, 2 perfectly fried eggs, fresh sticky rice, and that kalua pork... let me say it again THAT KALUA PORK was delish!

The server was very sweet and personable and the cook/owner, Steve, was very pleasant as well. He even made time to come out to my table and personally introduce himself and ask how everything was

I will definitely be returning for more and on my list to try will be the fries with kalua and gravy as well as the poke

    Great local Hawaiian food.
The Kalua Pork is the bomb.
Cannot wait to try the laulau!!

Fantastic food and very welcoming staff! We got all kinds of free samples to see what we liked. The owner even gave my daughter a free ice cream because she was awesome the entire meal.

Seriously recommend this place, we'll be back

I love this place! I came here tonight for the first time and I'm so glad I did. The food was great. Prices were good. Our service was amazing. I didn't catch her name, but the server was the best (African American lady. Very outgoing). It's a very laid back atmosphere with paper plates and plastic forks. The coconut shrimp was delicious. The tri tip was great (and I don't even like tri tip!). The Korean chicken was also great. I really liked everything about this place and can't wait to return! A hidden gem, that's for sure.

WHAT another option for island Hawaiian food here you go this place is amazing I'd say an upgraded l and l if you like that place. It closed down due to a fire and is now back open.I noticed a spike in pricing a little but well worth it if your looking for this kind of food.I exclusively go here for the mochiko chicken which is the best thing smoking lol. They used to make it only in Wednesday's and now have it full time on the menu I'm stoked you won't regret it.The owners treat you like family and even let new customer try samples when they order and bring your food out.
